I’m Alexa and I would love to care for your fur baby!
Hey there! I’m Alexa and I would love to help you out with your furry family member. I have worked with animals for over 15 years, volunteering in shelters as a teen, watching friends dogs in college, and working through Rover in my 20s as a side hustle! This is my fourth year working as a FULL-TIME pet care provider, and I have learned a lot of new tips and tricks for helping your pet. Being a small business owner has taught me a lot, and it has shown me that taking care of pets is what makes me happy! And as a pet owner and lover myself, I know that our pets are more than just pets, they are family! I will make sure your furry family member gets the best care possible when you need a helping hand.
I am pet First Aid and CPR Certified, I have also been trained as a Pet Care Specialist at Greenlin Pet Resorts and received certifications for dog body language and handling dogs in groups. In the past I have worked in shelters playing with dogs, taking them on walks, giving them baths and obedience training. I have experience house sitting with dogs over short or long periods of time, and am comfortable giving oral medications and can help stick to strict medicinal schedules.
I’ve been a pet owner my whole life but I was lucky enough to be a pet parent for 9 years. My cat Lily recently passed away at the age of 10 from heart complications. I became Lily’s mom when she was only 13 months old and I was only 22. Lily taught me the importance of responsibility, independence, and just how deep the love between a human and an animal can be.
Losing a beloved pet of almost a decade has been truly one of the most difficult losses I’ve personally experienced. But it has helped me know the feeling my fellow pet parents go through when they lose a fur baby. Providing our pets with the happiest life possible is the true meaning of being a pet parent, and I want to help all my clients give their babies the best life they can have.
